A huge Apple Tease and Facebook Killed the Gmail Star?

You know Apple means business when they replace the entire front page of their Apple site with a giant teaser announcement showing clock timestamps of  something “we will never forget” that will happen tomorrow at 10AM Eastern, 7AM Pacific.

Apple Teases Huge iTunes Announcement.

Facebook is completely rewriting their messaging product and is preparing to launch a fully featured webmail product in its place, according to a source with knowledge of the product. Internally it’s known as Project Titan. Or, unofficially and perhaps over-enthusiastically, the Gmail killer.

This will be more than just a revamp of the internal Facebook messenger system, converted to talk to other email servers via a POP access.  Titan is purported to be a full-fledged webmail client that will supposedly sort your incoming emails based on preferences from your “friend” list.

Everybody will get an @fb.com e-mail address.

Oh goodness.

Since Facebook seems to go down every other day now…not so sure I’ll be doing e-mail through them. I’m sticking with gmail folks. At least for now.
