Matt and Kim rock the block

These two are just the best rock couple ever. Seriously, I mean they pour heart and soul, blood and sweat and other bodily fluids into every song, every public appearance, every stunt they pull. And if you don’t believe me or if you have never seen them perform live then all you need to do is see this video of them taking over parts of New York to perform for their fans.

My kids and I have seen them live and they were so vulgar and awesome. At one point Kim noticed I had the kids with me while she was talking about how low she would be dancing to the floor… and then she saw the baby on my shoulders and she was apologizing up on stage. Of course Finn will not remember this and it’s not a big deal. Braeden didn’t care either, he still gave Kim his coloring page after the show and she still gave him a sweaty hug. It was an awesome night and I’ll love this band FOREVER!

Matt & Kim have done it again in their new video for “Block After Block“, the latest single off their album Sidewalks which premiered today exclusively on MTV and is now in rotation on MTV’s Hits and mtvU channels. The duo reunited with Jonathan Del Gatto, the director of their “Cameras” music video, to take the action-packed fun that is a Matt & Kim live show and bring it direct to the streets.

“Block After Block” was shot on location in NYC and not only includes Matt & Kim’s gang of friends, but also loyal Twitter followers who showed up to fulfill Matt’s fun and fresh concept of a flash-mob performance occurring in numerous iconic New York City locations. Crowd surfing on the Brooklyn Bridge, performing in a Chinatown intersection, and taking over the NBC Rockefeller Plaza are just a few of the raucous scenes included in this fun-filled music video.

The music video is done in typical Matt & Kim fashion, bringing their larger-than-life energy to the small screen. Past videos find the band in an all-out food fight (“Yea Yeah”), pummeling each other in their rehearsal space (“Cameras”), or taking off their clothes in Times Square (“Lessons Learned”), the last of which earned them an MTV “Breakthrough Video Award” at the VMAs and an mtvU Woodie Award for “Best Video”.
