Snow White meets Horror Flick … DVD #GIVEAWAY

Snow White a Deadly Summer is coming to DVD on March 20th but if you’re into making fairytales even scarier than they already are you can enter a giveaway at the bottom of this post and win yourself the DVD before it hits shelves.

It is even more especially terrifying to know the “wicked stepmother” in this flick is none other than Maureen McCormick! McCormick played Marcia in the Brady Bunch! And the of course the father played by Eric Roberts can also be seen in ‘The Dark Knight’ and ‘The Expendables.’

Synopsis: In this edgy tale of horror, a troubled teenage girl finds herself in a web of lies and deceit when her stepmother attempts to murder her by sending her to a discipline camp.

SNOW (Shanley Caswell) was stunned when her FATHER (Eric Roberts) remarried. Still hurt and reeling, Snow began a cycle of bad behavior. Resentful of the tension Snow has caused in the house, her stepmother LINDA (Maureen McCormick), convinces her father to send Snow away to a discipline camp. Snow learns that the camp has a history. There had been a murder there years prior and the prime suspect, one of the campers, disappeared into the woods never to be found again. When Snow starts to suspect that someone is watching from a distance… stalking them… she wonders if the killer may have returned. Soon, campers start dying off. Snow’s stepmother uses the camp’s troubled history as an excuse to get Snow out of the picture. She’s been killing the campers one by one and now Snow is next!

VeggieTales: Robin Good and His Not-So-Merry Men DVD #giveaway

Do we have any Veggie Tales fans out there?

My youngest really likes Veggie Tales but my oldest son has out grown them. Although if they are on TV I see him peeking every now and then :)

VeggieTales: Robin Good and His Not-So-Merry Men will feature plenty of high-energy, family-friendly music, including a new Silly Song with a theme that was selected through a recent online fan contest. The episode also includes the animated short, “Lenny & the Lost Birthday” which also helps teach lessons about handling hurt and forgiveness.

“Helping children handle hurt and face disappointment is a challenge that is common to every family,” said Greg Fritz, SVP Sales & Marketing of Big Idea Entertainment. “Thankfully, God’s Word gives us guidance on how to grow through these challenges. Robin Good brings these biblical truths to life in a fun and engaging way that is easy for kids to understand. The lesson topic has been a top request of fans over the years, and we’re pleased to bring this resource to the market.”

VeggieTales®: Robin Good and His Not-So-Merry Men, available at Christian retail stores March 3rd and everywhere March 6th, 2012.

In this Veggie-version of the classic tale, Larry the Cucumber stars as Robin Good, a fearless man who roves the town of Bethlingham with his band of merry men to help people by fundraising from the rich and giving to the poor! But when a greedy Prince starts stealing the townspeople’s hams, donations are down and Robin’s friends take off and decide to give robbing from the rich a try.

Feeling rejected, Robin thinks things can’t get any worse, until he finds out that the ham-hoarding Prince has also captured his friends. Can Robin overcome his own hurt, rescue his friends and restore the townspeople’s hope?

A story of faith, strength, and friendship, this timeless tale will warm the hearts of children everywhere!
