Jim Adkins (Of Jimmy Eat World) To Release Series of Singles This Summer

Someone once sang…

It just takes some time,
Little girl, you’re in the middle of the ride.
Everything, everything will be just fine,
Everything, everything will be alright, alright.

Oh wait…

JimAdkinsJim Adkins, lead-singer of multi-platinum rock band Jimmy Eat World, is excited to announce a series solo tour dates in Europe and a string of digital singles to be released this summer, beginning with “I Will Go” this Friday, July 10. Every Friday between now and August 14, Adkins will release a new digital single, with all of the singles being released as a set of three 7” singles in September. The singles series will also be available as a one time purchase digital subscription through http://bit.ly/jimadkins. Three songs of original material will accompany three cover songs over the six Fridays. The schedule of digital and physical releases is below.

Following the last few years, which consisted of Jimmy Eat World touring extensively behind their most recent album Damage and to celebrate the 10th anniversary of their 2004 album Futures, Jim Adkins is embarking on a solo tour of Europe this August and September, following his previously announced solo tour in the U.S. this July. The exclusive pre-sale is available now at JimAdkins.net

About the new solo singles and upcoming solo tour, Adkins noted, “2015 seemed like as good a time as any to take a second and experiment with life outside the pattern. In the past I have been involved with solo work, playing mostly benefit concerts locally in my home of Arizona. Toward the end of our last European tour I decided to stick around and play a solo show in Berlin, DE. I thought to myself: hey, this is different and also pretty fun…I could keep going. So why not?”

Upon returning to the United States in September, Jimmy Eat World will celebrate the end of summer with a show in their native Arizona at Tempe’s Summer Ends Music Festival on September 25, followed by a concert in southern California at San Manuel Amphitheater in San Bernardino on October 3rd.

Jimmy Eat World US Tour Dates Confirmed, On Sale May 3

Damage_zps22e94417Jimmy Eat World is a band both my brother and I can agree on loving. In fact, growing up my brother listened to pretty much all music that I could not stand and I am sure he would say the same thing about my audible habits since they ranged from The Beatles to Bush sprinkled with a little Lionel Richie and pretty much anything that would have had airplay in the 50s or 60s. Yes that’s right I know all the words to Screamin’ Jay Hawkins “I Put A Spell On You” and “Build Me Up Buttercup” from The Foundations. Just as the kids who grew up with me in my Mom’s daycare. Yet my brother was always begging my Mom and I to listen to the “deep” lyrics of DMX and 2Pac.

A new album will release in June for Jimmy Eat World and I am positive it’s going to be fantastic based on what I have heard so far…if you’re a fan or if you’re not a fan, it’s a great album. Don’t be crazy and miss out on it….even if the cover art is really weak.

Jimmy Eat World announce U.S. tour dates to support their forthcoming album, Damage (out June 11th). The band had previously announced their Arizona “Home State” Tour which kicks off this Friday in Yuma.

The new dates are set to kick off June 30th in Pittsburgh, with more dates to be announced in the near future.

Neon Indian
Titus Andronicus
Broken Social Scene
The Mountain Goats
Ted Leo and the Pharmacists
Owen Pallett

Jimmy Eat World confirms album release date

Very excited to know we’ll be graced with the new Jimmy Eat World album this fall.

September 28th, 2010 marks the release date of Jimmy Eat World’s highly anticipated new album, Invented. Recorded in Tempe, Arizona at the band’s Unit 2 studio, Jimmy Eat World reunited with Mark Trombino, the producer on the band’s breakthrough album, Bleed American, and their seminal earlier albums, Static Prevails and Clarity. “We’re very excited about Invented,” said lead singer and guitarist Jim Adkins, “it was great reconnecting and creating an album with Mark Trombino, we can’t wait for our fans to hear it.” Fans will get their first taste of Invented when the first single “My Best Theory” hits the airwaves in August. Jimmy Eat World has a stellar history across Modern Rock radio with five top 10 hits.

Invented marks the band’s first studio album since 2007’s Chase This Light which landed Jimmy Eat World’s highest chart position of their career at #5 on the Billboard 200 Album Chart. Jimmy Eat World’s last release may have been three years ago but they’ve been busy. The boys took a break from the recording of Invented to commemorate the 10-year anniversary of their influential album, Clarity with a sold out national tour.

Jimmy Eat World will perform at this year’s Virgin Mobile Freefest taking place on Saturday, September 25th at Merriweather Post Pavilionin Columbia, MD.

This is a free show! Tickets will be available from 10am EST onSaturday, July 24th at www.ticketfly.com
