Scooby Doo AND KISS Mystery Giveaway #ScoobyDoo

scoobydoo-kissMy husband is a huge KISS fan. I’ve been to a concert with him to see them and he has been to like 30 of their concerts. So when we bought the Scooby-Doo tv-episode which included music from KISS complete with KISS cartoon characters taking stage, he was quite amused. My kids just wanted to know what all the makeup was about. Scooby-Doo being Halloween-ish, meant for an easy explanation.  The weird band makeup is because they are in “character” but the movie was good. The kids love mysteries. I like the crop circle angle in this episode and we were all curious to see how the fire breathing ghosts panned out. I’ll always prefer the Scooby shows of the 70s though. Although I admit I’m okay with the Scooby Gang hanging around for my kids to enjoy.

Who are the 2014 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame noms?

HOF2014Here are the final nominations list for the 2014 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame: Linda Ronstadt, Peter Gabriel, Nirvana, Cat Stevens, Yes, LL Cool J and the Replacements.

The remainder of the 16 acts that made the ballot will go to Rock Hall voters and they are: the Paul Butterfield Blues Band, Chic, Deep Purple, Hall and Oates, KISS, N.W.A., the Meters, Link Wray and the Zombies.

Inductees are expected to be announced in December. The induction ceremony is slated for April in New York City, and highlights from the event will be shown on HBO in May.

What are your thoughts on these nominees? How did LL Cool J wind up in there along side Peter Gabriel? This is a very diverse group that is FOR SURE. They surely are not “rock and roll” they are “music hall of famers” right? Right.

Starting last year, the process expanded to include a fan vote. Fans can weigh in with their choices starting Oct. 16 and continuing through Dec. 10 at 2 p.m. Pacific time at the Rock Hall’s official website, and also at Rolling Stone and USA Today sites. The top five vote-getters will constitute the “fans’ ballot” that will be counted among the other 600 to be cast.

Who will you be voting for?

Sonic Boom

Last week, KISS announced that “Sonic Boom,” the first new KISS studio album since 1998’s “Psycho Circus,” will be sold in the US and Canada exclusively at Walmart, Walmart.com and Sam’s Club stores.

The first single from the set, “Modern Day Delilah,” reached radio airwaves earlier this month. The track is the band’s first single since 1999’s “You Wanted the Best.”

The new album will be part of a three-disc set scheduled for release October 6, 2009.

KISS has also revealed tour dates for the band’s fall US tour in support of “Sonic Boom,” the venerable rockers’ first new studio album in 11 years.

According to Live Daily, tickets are on sale for the show’s opener at “Detroit Rock City” Michigan.
