Erasure New Single & Video Fill Us With Fire

Pop pioneers Erasure release a new single, “Fill Us With Fire” on March 13th 2012, taken from the latest album, Tomorrow’s World, out now.

Fill Us With Fire” is an euphoric declaration of love and comes backed with a new track “Shot To The Heart”, produced by Vince Clarke at The Cabin at the end of the album sessions and available here for the first time, plus remixes from Gareth JonesJRMX (Katy Perry, The Saturdays) andLiam Keegan (Madonna, Rihanna). Erasure release a new Video for “Fill Us With Fire” today, the kaleidoscope Video was filmed during the band’s 2011 tour in support of their Frankmusik produced Tomorrow’s World album, which was released in October 2011.

Tomorrow’s World, produced by Frankmusik (Lady Gaga, Pet Shop Boys, Ellie Goulding), sees synthetic melodies and electronic beats as dominant as ever. It’s the sound of Erasure rebooted, rejuvenated and fully recharged. Timeless and universal, they never look back. Such is the essence of great pop: a glorious celebration of right here, right now.

From Lady Gaga to Metronomy, the futurist, electronic sound Erasure championed is more relevant today than ever and once again re-charging the global music scene. The award-winning duo of Vince Clarke and Andy Bell unleashed on the nation a succession of both influential and chart-topping pop anthems. Songs like “A Little Respect”, “Sometimes”, “Victim Of Love”, “Ship Of Fools”, “Chains Of Love”, “The Circus”, and “Breathe,” ensured a formidable presence on the singles charts complemented by five consecutive No 1 albums including “The Innocents”, “Wild!”, “Chorus” and the beginning of the worldwide Abba revival “Abba-esque”.

The Lady Gaga Elephant Auction

You may be asking yourself, what exactly is an Elephant Lady Gaga? Wel oddly enough it is the name of a fantastic painting from an artist named Rasa Levinskaite.

This painting is currently up for auction on an experimental website and the goal is to get a bidder or bidders up to $1 million dollars in a year or less, hence the name One Year Auction.

Why the name Lady Gaga? Well, maybe the big eyes? But this is not the only celebrity named elephant painted by Rasa Levinskaite. She recently painted another elephant and named it after Michael Jackson; I wonder what the asking price will be for that work of art.

The current highest bid is $13,000.00

Painting dimensions:

Length – 48 Inches
Height – 36 Inches
Width – 1 Inch

Auction end date is May 11th, 2012 at 6:00 PM EST

Quick run down on the Grammy’s

Train won their third Grammy Award last night as the iTunes Session version of their hit song “Hey, Soul Sister” took home the award for Best Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals. Train’s iTunes Session EP features original performances by the band available exclusively on iTunes. This award marks the first Grammy win for iTunes original content.

Train frontman Pat Monahan said, “It’s been beyond our wildest dreams to have the success we have had this past year, and a Grammy completely takes it over the top. We can’t thank our fans enough for always sticking with us.”

I for one love their latest single “Marry Me,” which has been certified “gold” so far. The song continues its ascent up the radio charts, and is currently reaching 24 million people in audience.

Lady Antebellum, on the other hand, picked up five prizes, including song and record of the year. It marked the second consecutive year that a country act dominated the event, after Taylor Swift grabbed the Grammy glory in 2010.

The members of Lady Antebellum said they were left in tears backstage by their unexpected wins, which also included three awards in the country field, all generated by their album “Need You Now.”

“We’ll probably never have one of these moments ever again in our career,” said singer Charles Kelley. “You’re not going to win five Grammys ever again. We know that, we’re realistic. So we’re gonna try to soak it up.”

The number one prize of top album of the year went to Arcade Fire. Awesomeness.

Flamboyant pop singer Lady Gaga and rapper Jay-Z won three awards each, both of them beating Eminem along the way.

Kate was at the Grammys to support boyfriend – and future baby daddy – Matt Bellamy, who won Best Rock Album with his band, Muse.

Who were the Big Hitters for 2010?

Lady Gaga has unsurprisingly scored the biggest selling album of last year, with veteran rockers Bon Jovi scooping the highest grossing tour.

According to a report from Pollstar, Bon Jovi’s “The Circle” tour made $202.5 million from 80 shows, beating lucrative tours from the likes of the Eagles, ACDC, Paul McCartney and, perhaps appropriately, the live production of Walking with Dinosaurs.

Lady Gaga , who played an impressive 138 live shows during 2010 coming in 4th in the live poll also scored 6 million sales worldwide with “The Fame Monster”, an expanded edition of her 2008 debut album. Gaga had already topped a poll for the most listened to artists on Spotify in 2010. Commenting on the news of her album’s dominance through her Twitter page, Lady Gaga said: “I’m so excited for the future, believe + work hard, you will achieve your dreams.”

“Progress” by Take That was the biggest selling album in the UK according to the Official Charts Company, clocking up $1.84 million sales.

Beyonce was the highest earning musician of the year, coming in ninth on the Forbes list with reported earnings of $88.3 million.

Upcoming music news …

In an interesting twist on usual record industry practice, psychedelic American pop rockers The Flaming Lips have revealed that they are going to release one song each month in 2011. This is what frontman Wayne Coyne had to say, “With this new thing, we’re going to spend a lot of time recording at our houses or wherever we are at,” he told Rolling Stone. “We’ll try to release a song a month and document the song in the making, whether it takes us three or five days or a week. It’s gonna be, ‘We’re working on a song and it’s gonna be up by Friday’. We just want to [release new material] some other way.”

Rock on!

Dang, Lady Gaga, those are fighting words

Come on now, why can’t we all just get along? I understand there is no such thing as bad publicity, but Alisa Apps probably doesn’t know one real-world thing about Lady Gaga. All she knows is the entertainer. Lady Gaga has gotten into several public speaking situations where she has used her voice as an advocate for groups. She dresses weird and probably shouldn’t sing by herself sitting atop a stool on an empty stage but good grief Apps.

“I feel sorry for Lady Gaga – she’s just a plastic doll generated by the music money marketing machine,” explained Alisa Apps. “I stand for the voice of your heart. Be real with me. Come to my world and feel. I want to hear you and for you to hear me. This contest gives people a chance to choose which they prefer – plastic or real.”

Lady Gaga has yet to accept this challenge. Perhaps she doesn’t want to be shown up? Regardless, Alisa Apps is determined to see it happen.

In recent months, Lady Gaga has received a series of stinging criticisms. Cultural critic Camille Paglia refers to her as “a plasticized android.” According to fashion designer Antonio Bernardo , he refused to make outfits for her as he didn’t want to be associated with someone whose music is meaningless.

Alisa wants to heal people with her music. Sickened by the current state of affairs, she wants to bring back love, honesty and passion through her songs and her voice.
