Sherlock Holmes Sequel

Brad Pitt
After ‘Sherlock Holmes’ managed to uncover more than 65 million dollars in its opening weekend, the sequel is being planned with Brad Pitt reportedly the top choice to portray the sinister Professor Moriarty.

PopEater.com reports that Robert Downey Jr. (Sherlock Holmes) and Jude Law (Watson) have already signed on and now Pitt, 46, is being tipped to play villain Moriarty.

“The director, Guy Ritchie, loves Brad,” the New York Daily News quoted an industry source as saying.

“He has worked with him before and thinks he is one of the most underrated actors working today. Guy knows that everyone thinks of Pitt as a pretty boy and can’t wait to turn him into the world’s greatest super villain. It will definitely make the sequel a must-see,” the source added.

If you’ve seen Holmes, you know that Moriarty is only shown behind dark shadows, and only heard as a gruff English voice speaking to Rachel McAdams’ and showing off a fancy handgun or two. It never even occurred to me that it was Pitt’s voice behind that English accent, but UGO’s Matt Patches asked Ritchie himself, and, well, Ritchie hedged.

Patches: I have to ask, who plays the voice of Moriarty in this movie?
Guy Ritchie: I’m not going to tell you.
Matt Patches: I have to say, it sounded a little like Brad Pitt.
Guy Ritchie: Can’t say.

Scarlett Johansson is no director; Foxx to star as Tyson

Check out the first picture from IRON MAN 2 with Robert Downey Jr.

Thanks to USA Today, we finally get more of Tony Stark aka Robert Downey Jr.

Jon Favreau is also back behind the camera and if number 2 is as good as number 1 was, I think we’re in for a treat.

Favreau told USA Today that the movie “takes place six months after Tony Stark revealed his identity as Iron Man, and the development is playing out with unexpected results.”

Hollywood actor Jamie Foxx wants to make a biopic based on the life of boxing legend Mike Tyson.

Foxx, who won critical acclaim for his portrayal of soul legend Ray Charles in the flick ‘Ray’, admitted that he would love to portray Mike in a flick.

“I think I would have to play Mike Tyson. I’ve talked to Mike several times and his story is the most tragic American story… Mike’s story is about what America and the world is about today,” Contactmusic quoted Foxx, as saying.

“Coming up at 18 years old and getting his $60 million and not teaching him what taxes are about, about vultures, about people who will never be real with you as long as you have the money,” Foxx added.

Foxx revealed that he has already started working on his dream project.

“I’m working on securing the rights to the movie,” Foxx said.

That is one movie I won’t be watching nor will care to miss.

Scarlett Johansson’s dream of being a director was dashed on her first try.

Johansson — who’s said in the past she’d prefer to direct rather than act — helmed a segment for the upcoming movie “New York, I Love You,” a series of intertwined love stories shot by several auteurs, including Brett Ratner and Natalie Portman.

But unfortunately for Johansson, her segment, starring Kevin Bacon and shot in black and white, was deemed “unwatchable,” sources said.

The film’s producer, Emmanuel Benbihy, said Johansson’s bit ended up in the scrapheap not because it was bad, but because “the story did not specifically involve an interpersonal relationship, and it was conceptualized to be filmed in black and white — both of which were extreme departures from the other films.”

The Sugababes are buzzing about their US deal with Jay-Z’s label Roc Nation.

Who are these ladies? I’ve never heard of them.

Mourning Jade Goody; Is Buffy Back?, Downey is 44 today

Thousands of mourners have arrived at the church where Jade Goody’s funeral is being held.

Jade Goody’s distraught widower Jack Tweed opened her funeral service by reading a moving poem in tribute to his ‘brightest star’.

Entitled ‘If Only’ the poem he penned told how the couple’s love was cut cruelly short by cancer and how he desperately wishes for his wife back.

One line read: “If only tears could build a stairway and heartaches make a lane we would walk the path to heaven and bring you back again.” (Got news for you folks, he did not pen that, but it’s still sweet nonetheless.)

Sarah Michelle Gellar is reportedly in talks to reprise her role as Buffy the Vampire Slayer – for a movie.

The 31-year-old actress ended her role as Buffy in 2003 after a six-year run.

Now the feisty character could be making a return on the big screen.

An insider says, “There is an idea for a script and to pick the story up with Buffy older and maybe even a mother.

“Michelle is busy with movie projects at the moment but she is excited about the idea. Buffy still has a huge fan-base so this is a movie that already has an audience.

Happy Birthday to Robert Downey Jr. who turns 44 today.

Robert currently riding high on his success in 2008 (Iron Man and Tropic Thunder), both commercially sound and picking up an oscar nod for the second. Over the next year he’s got The Soloist (meh comments from Showest) and Sherlock Holmes coming up. That should keep him in the spotlight for at least next couple of years.

During the press junket of “The Soloist” Friday, April 3, Robert Downey Jr. has finally broken the silence over “Iron Man 2” possible plot. When asked by MTV whether this “Iron Man” sequel will be based on the “Demon in a Bottle” storyline, he responded by saying, “Not really. As a matter of fact, I think that’s probably best saved because it’s such its own storyline.”

The couple allegedly agreed to pay her $31.25 an hour to care for their son Elliott, now 11, with overtime at $46.88. But the De Niros never paid the overtime, the suit says.

Don’t expect the Octo-Babies to be coming home this week. In a big setback for Nadya Suleman, Social workers from Kaiser Permanente hospital just inspected the octomom’s new 2,500 square foot house in La Habra and they were not thrilled with what they saw.

A social worker liaison tells RadarOnline.com exclusively that Nadya’s new house needs the following work before her babies come home:

*All lighting moved up onto the ceiling. No lamps or cords on the floor.
*Fireplace needs safety guards
*Stairs need to be re-built.
*Upstairs banister on stairs raised to enclose entire 2nd floor.
*Hypo-allergenic air filters installed
*Bunk beds can not be next to window in upstairs bedrooms.
*Blinds need to be cordless
*Storage cabinets installed

The social workers were very surprised and disappointed Nadya didn’t show up for the inspection.

She should have showed up for the inspection, but I think some of their needs are not really needed. Blinds need to be cordless? All lighting moved to ceiling? Seems a bit extreme to me.

“It’s pretty badass,” Robert told Thea Andrews, joking, “1891 Victorian England was a petty gnarly place — I like that I actually got the word gnarly in a Victorian description.”

Robert’s version of Holmes is a whole lot more tough and sexy than you’ve ever seen before, but Robert says his take on the character was already there in print.

David Boreanaz let a happy little secret slip today on “Live with Regis and Kelly.”

He loves to Google himself

Robert Downey Jr. has revealed that he loves to Google himself.

“I love all that shit personally. Sorry. I love just it. Because it’s a hoot. Some people overstate their support, like they know you,” RDJ said. “Other people are busy doing something else and just want to go on this chat site and say some despicable character assassination, which I honestly think they kind of nailed it. I do have that shortcoming. It’s really fun.”
