The Fallen Star by Jessica Sorenson

the-fallen-starI wish I could give half stars because I would have given The Fallen Star by Jessica Sorenson this 3.5 stars but I can’t give it more than three.

Other people have been saying this story is way too much like Twilight. Seeing as how there is little to no love story or romance in the book I would have to say that’s not true. Although there are several awkward teen moments but still not enough to be Twilight comparable. (I did love Twilight so don’t get me wrong).

There was far too much of this book that was almost identical to Harry Potter. It’s like when you go in the grocery store and by the bagged cereal Os because you know they taste like Cheerios but they will never really be Cheerios and you missing the fun activity on the back of the box.

The first 100 pages there were so many Harry Potter rip-offs that I almost stopped reading. Thankfully the last 100 pages made up for the blatant similarities. Bad guy with a scar, memories taken, death walkers and a kid who has to live with their evil relatives who try to hide everything and lie all the time.

I did enjoy the star concept, that was original and I appreciate that plot in the story. I also like the small vampire element and the Vegas trip. I could have done without the death walkers they are way to similar to the death eaters in Harry Potter.

If there could have been some other supernatural villain this book would have probably gotten a 4.5 but since a lot if the concepts weren’t original I really can’t do more than 3 stars. With all that being said I will read the next book in the series and hopefully it will be improved.

The book is free on the Kindle as of right now.

The Twilight Saga an Undying Obsession

So, I finally decided to obtain the Twilight Saga via audiobooks Stephenie Meyer: Twilight/New Moon/Eclipse/Breaking Dawn CD Ppk (The Twilight Saga).

And now I’m completely and utterly swept back up in my obsession.

It’s an obsession for the books, the characters, the story. People either love or hate the Twilight Saga.

When it comes to Edward Cullen, I’d rather be a lover, hehe.

I love the story between Edward and Bella. Their dialogue is simply perfect. The caution, the tensions, the chemistry all just perfect.

If you’re a girl and you remember your first real love when you were younger then you should absolutely be able to relate.

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2, in theaters November 16, 2012.

Nikki Reed reveals Twilight Breaking Dawn shockers

Find out what the buzz is about before you hit the midnight screening. Nikki Reed plays Cullen family member Rosalie Hale in Part I of Breaking Dawn in the Twilight series written by Stephenie Meyer.

This isn’t just about Nikki being married to former American Idol star Paul MacDonald or the fact that she can speak Greek either, so trust me, you’re not going to want to miss it.

New cast member for Twilight Sage: Breaking Dawn

There is a piece of delicious casting news, for The Twilight Sage: Breaking Dawn, floating around online waiting to be devoured.

During their Emmy Awards party, Entertainment Tonight let loose that Rami Malek (he played Ankmenrah In both Night at the Museum films) has joined the cast of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn as the vampire Benjamin, who’s part of an Egyptian coven that assist the Cullens by acting as witnesses for them during a key part in the movie. Malek will most likely be joined by several other vampires who still need to be cast, including more Egyptians, Romanians, Irish, Amazonians and nomads.

There are more Egyptian vampires to come, believe it or not. Amun, Kebi and Tia, the other members of Benjamin’s family, are yet to be cast.

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part I will arrive in theaters on November 18th, 2011, with part two hitting theaters on November 16th, 2012. What do you think about the casting, and which new character are you looking forward to seeing on screen for the first time?
