Those of you who know me also know that when I really like a song I’ll play it 24 times in a row with no qualms and I’ll belt it out like my life depends on it.
This is one of those songs. I’m definitely a lyrics girl, so I always listen to the lyrics and these are perfect. But the music is also amazing, I love it, he’s incredibly talented. So let’s not keep him a secret, ok, let’s scream from the rooftops that the man has 23 albums and I’m only just now listening! I have so much to catch up on! I even believe that my friends who aren’t so into country will also love Will Hoge. Think of Bruce Springsteen and/or John Mellencamp.
So the song I’m going on about is called “17” and will be released on Anchors an album set to drop this week on August 11. For those near me, he’ll be in Philly on September 20 at World Cafe Live.
I’m just trying to play
Every song that I think might make you look my way Look my way
You’ll need to drag the slider to 4:30 if you’re interested in hearing just the song, he rambles on a bit prior to that because it’s a recording of a show.

Red Wanting Blue is now hard at work wrapping up the recording sessions for the follow-up to From The Vanishing Point. Working once again with producer Jamie Candiloro (REM, Ryan Adams), singer-songwriter Scott Terry spent a week in Candiloro’s Los Angeles studio cutting demos before convening with the entire band in its Columbus, Ohio warehouse studio to begin the sessions. The new album will once again be released by Fanatic Records, distributed by Caroline/Capitol Music Group. A release date for the as-yet-untitled record has yet to be announced.
In the meantime, Red Wanting Blue will be doing what the band does best. The upcoming “Dime-Store Circus Tour 2013” will take Red Wanting Blue around the country again, on headlining dates and on shows with Will Hoge and Swear and Shake.
Tune in to Red Wanting Blue performing on NPR’s “Mountain Stage” program! See here to find your local affiliate. Below you can stream their song “Walking Shoes” and above the title of this post you can stream their song “Audition.” I think you’ll love both!
