A go-to feel-good show coming to an end that looks into the future

You know those shows you immediately think of when you need to just feel better?

Mine used to be Psych, but that is not available on Netflix anymore (BOO!) and the series ended on USA so it’s just not as accessible as I would like it to be. My kids and I love to watch Friends, but now that we’ve seen the entire series three times from start to finish I really need something else.

So, I started watching New Girl. Now granted I have seen it before, but not religiously. One drawback is that I can’t really watch it with the kids. The contest is typically far too suggestive for their ears. BUT when I do get a chance to tune in, usually on Netflix, I am guaranteed to laugh.

All that being said, I just saw that this will be their final season! The seventh and final season of New Girl will begin airing sometime in 2018. (That’s another thing I don’t get about series these days, they have such wonky air dates.) Anyway, the upcoming season just might have a twist! This final season will only have eight episodes and it sounds like they’re planning for something a little different.

According to People’s Choice, the seventh season of New Girl will be picking up three years after the season 6 finale! WHAT!?

That would mean fans would see Schmidt and Cece with a child (since they were expecting in season 6), we’d find out what happened after Winston called his dad, and the fate of Jess and Nick’s romance.

Curious!? I am!

Barry & Joe – Bromancing the multiverse to save us from ourselves

A few years ago I met Adam Reid, he’s a director, illustrator, storyteller, producer, brand jedi extraordinaire from Maplewood, New Jersey. He co-founded the production company and agency Bodega Studios.

From the moment my family met him we thought he was very cool, and not just because he was shooting a Mazda commercial in our house with Minnie Driver. (She is also very cool).

And now… his coolness meter has reached grand new heights! Because Adam is working on an animated sci-fi sitcom starring two of my most favorite people in the whole world Former President Barack Obama and Former Vice President Joe Biden. Adam, like myself, misses these two and their “bromance” but it goes beyond the wit, humor and classic aviator sunglasses. This is about two bold, charming men who are going to be given the chance to go back in time (with their current knowledge) and save the world! Their only guide on this journey is Neil deGrasse Tyson! *squeal* I am so excited!

Adam writes, “If you’re like me, you’re more than a bit concerned lately about the fate of our country, our planet, and humanity itself.

And while we need new heroes to step in and stand up for what is right, I can’t help but intensely miss Barack Obama and Joe Biden.

I dream about how the world might be different if we could go back in time and make better choices understanding what we know now. If only there was some way to set things right.”

Currently, this whole concept is in a Kickstarter phase. Your help is needed! The perks for backing this series are pretty stellar if I do say so myself.  Pledge $75 and get a “Barry and Joe” coloring book! Pledge $100 for the “Hoodie of Resistance.” And for those of you with let’s say $10,000 extra laying around to invest in something super awesome, you will have an opportunity to get producer credit, A SPEAKING ROLE IN THE SERIES, a hoodie AND a poster! WHAT!?

But even a pledge of $5 can get you a digital pack of Barry & Joe themed artwork which is amazing!

So what qualifies nowadays for a government official to declare a special holiday or some kind? I mean I know there are plenty of national days to celebrate, apple pie day, talk like a pirate day but when it sort of becomes “official” what are the requirements for that and what has to happen?

Celebrating the start of production on season two of WGN America’s hit original series, “Outsiders,” Pittsburgh Mayor William Peduto is set to declare Wednesday, May 18 “Outsiders Day,” with a proclamation ceremony at City Hall. Continuing the festivity for the addicting drama, produced by Sony Pictures Television and Tribune Studios, “Outsiders” star David Morse will throw out the ceremonial first pitch at the Pittsburgh Pirates game on Tuesday, May 24 at PNC Park.

Production on the 13-episode, hour-long series will commence in and around Pittsburgh, where 530 local crew and primary cast and 1,980 local extras and stand-ins were hired during the filming of the series’ first season.

Cast returning for the second season include David Morse (“Treme,” “Hurt Locker”), Thomas M. Wright (“The Bridge,” “Top of the Lake”), Ryan Hurst (“Sons of Anarchy,” “Bates Motel”), Joe Anderson (“The Divide,” “Across the Universe”), Gillian Alexy (“The Americans,” “Damages”), Kyle Gallner (“American Sniper,” “Veronica Mars”), and Christina Jackson (“Boardwalk Empire,” “Deception”). Additional cast to be announced.

“Outsiders” is created and written by award-winning playwright Peter Mattei, who executives produces alongside Fedora Entertainment’s Emmy® Award-winner Peter Tolan (“Rescue Me,” “Analyze This”), Touchy Feely Films’ Emmy® Award-winner Paul Giamatti (“John Adams,” “Sideways”), Michael Wimer (“2012,” “Rake”), and Dan Carey (“All Is Bright”). The second season of “Outsiders” will premiere January 2017 on WGN America.

Because it would be wrong not to share

Will Smith is one of my most favorite actors of all time.

And so it would be wrong not to wish him a happy birthday and also not to share what his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, did to embarrass him on Facebook.

Ha. So adorable.

Official trailer for Burnt with Bradley Cooper

bradleycooper-burntYes, yes I know Bradley Cooper and his hot model girlfriend Irina Shayk are trending because of their bathing suit escapades, but this post isn’t about orange bikini bottoms.

This is about Philadelphia born Bradley Cooper and his upcoming part as Adam Jones in the comedic movie Burnt.

On behalf of The Weinstein Company, check out the OFFICIAL TRAILER for BURNT – opening in theaters nationwide on October 23, 2015!

Chef Adam Jones (Bradley Cooper) had it all – and lost it. A two-star Michelin rockstar with the bad habits to match, the former enfant terrible of the Paris restaurant scene did everything different every time out, and only ever cared about the thrill of creating explosions of taste. To land his own kitchen and that third elusive Michelin star though, he’ll need the best of the best on his side, including the beautiful Helene (Sienna Miller). BURNT is a remarkably funny and emotional story about the love of food, the love between two people, and the power of second chances.

Director: John Wells
Written By: Steven Knight, Michael Kalesniko
Rating: TBD
