sanders-bohlke_ghost-boy_coverThe above video is haunting and amazing. I love it! Ghost Boy. It’s going to appear in your dreams tonight, just wait. You won’t know what he’s saying then either, but the mumbles and that over produced unearthly music will drift through the darkness and envelope your mind.

On Sanders Bohlke’s new record, his evolution as a songwriter with lush soundscapes that layer brooding and billowy textures against his soulful voice; both beautiful and dark.

Comedy from DreamWorks ‘The Croods’ in theaters today 3/22

thecroodsThe Croods stars Nicolas Cage as Grug, Ryan Reynolds as Guy, Emma Stone as Eep, Catherine Keener as Ugga, Clark Duke as Thunk, and Cloris Leachman as Gran.

That’s quite a cast for a DreamWorks about the Croodaceous Period, which, says DeMicco, “fell between the Jurassic Age and the ‘Katzenzoic Era’. It is a world of visual splendor and grandeur that holds innumerable challenges for the beleaguered clan. And what happens…an earthquake and so they have to find a new home. How can that be funny? I’m not sure but if anyone can do it then it would be DreamWorks.

What’s going on with the characters aside for journeying to find a new home? Croods father-type Grug (voiced by Nicolas Cage) has to come to terms with daughter Eep (Emma Stone) growing older and falling in love with the more evolved Guy (Ryan Reynolds), who poses the threat of change for stubborn Grug. Ah so I see, the bigger drama here will be battle of the minds between Dad and Daughter, now I know how it’s a comedy :)

Oz The Great and Powerful exciting printables & fun

Disney_OZ_The_Great_And_Powerful_1024x768It has been several months since my family and I saw the first preview for the upcoming movie starring James Franco, Oz The Great and Powerful. If you know me, or really anyone in my immediate family than you know we all adore sci-fi and fantasy. This movie is a MUST see and I’d really like to get us all to the theater. I think, even though Amelia is only 4 months old, she would be fine as long as I have ear muffs for her because she is really well behaved. My gut says she’d sleep through part of it and be glued to the screen for the other part.

It’s not that I am of the generation that grew up with the original Wizard of Oz because I’m not. But the movie is a classic. All generations know of it and most people have watched it at least once. There is a scene when Dorothy sees her Auntie Em and then the Wicked Witch’s face in the looking glass and it still freaks me out to this day.

James Franco stars along side Mila Kunis, Rachel Weisz, Michelle Williams and the Flying Monkey who you will recognize has Zach Braff‘s voice. The film is meant to be a prequel of the original Wizard of Oz and shares the story of how the great wizard came to be.

In honor of this visually stunning flick I have put together some printables for you and yours.

Music sweetness from The Ceremonies #nowplaying

thecermoniesWhat? You are looking for some delicious sounding flavor? Let me introduce you to The Ceremonies.

The Ceremonies are three brothers: Matthew, Mark, and Michael Cook, who grew up in Los Angeles. The brothers recall their childhood rarely holding a silent moment; song never failed to flow through the Cook household. They are carrying this on in a joyous, upbeat manner and it’s oh so wonderfully catchy! Their a band just doing what they want and it works. Fun and well-crafted with what must be a slew of musical influences because they have a really great cinematic sound; The Ceremonies deserve some praise.

You might have heard their song featured in the video below “Land of the Gathering” because it was also featured on a television commercial for the ecommerce site I love it, love it, love it!

The songs will get stuck in your head. You won’t get tired their tracks! What genre do they fall under? I’m not sure. I’d like to say they defy categorization. But what I guarantee will happen if that you’ll notice your foot tapping. You’ll not be able to stop it so don’t bother, just keep listening. And tapping.

Yes, I am a self-professed Psych-o #psych

Finally. FINALLY! The wait is over and the new season of Psych on the USA Network will begin today.

Anyone who knows anything about me is perfectly aware by now that I am crazy, psych-o crazy about this show. I have seen every episode many MANY times and could not possibly be a bigger fan. I have Psych bobble heads in the office on my desk. Shawn, Gus, Lassiter and Juliet all bobble affectionately as I type and every now and then I push their buttons to make them recite a quote from the show. Love!

Last season we were all left with quite the shocking cliffhanger when Shawn’s Dad was shot in the episode “Santabarbaratown.” It has now been over 10 months since the season 6 finale. That is WAY too long if you ask me. However, Psych fans are loyal and we are all pumped up for the seventh season to start. In fact, two weeks ago there was a Psych Slumber Party on the USA Network. They aired six of James Roday and Dulé Hill’s

favorite Psych episodes. I am proud to say I “checked-in” and received several stickers from Get Glue for watching the shows.

Something you may not be aware of but you really should embrace is the way the show allows you to interact online via the USA Network website’s S#ocial Sector.

PSYCH The S#cial Sector is the next evolutionary step in storytelling as it engages our fans by bringing them into the story with their own social and video-based content which they can share with other viewers and become part of a fantastic show experience,” said Jesse Redniss, senior vice president, Digital, USA Network. “This Social TV activation reflects our ongoing efforts to push the boundaries of storytelling across every screen and harness the immense power of fandom by creating a deeper connection our viewers.”

Fans will help Shawn and Gus solve the case through a series of real-time communications, mini-games, crowding-sourcing challenges and an interactive Fan Theory Board where fans can post video responses to weekly challenges from the PSYCH characters.

Do not miss this fantastic show! Wednesday, February 27 at 10/9c on USA.

Tell me about the Harlem Shake, come on now jigglers own it!

baauer1Alright so I openly admitted to not known what Gangham Style was or who Psy was.. apparently I had been living under a rock for quite some time. I had pregnancy brain and then was on maternity leave so I figure that is a decent excuse, right?

Spencer Graves, morning dj on 93.7 WSTW, tweeted about something called the “Harlem Shake” and therefore I knew I needed to immediately research. I can’t let another crazy dance pass me by! (Yes I know he was being sarcastic, he is ALWAYS sarcastic).

This is what I have found out…

So it all started by some guy named Bauuer. (What is up with these dude singer/dancer types who go by only one name, I always though only the GREATs could do that…like Prince, Madonna or Cher. Whatever.) Wait, wait, let’s go back, it really started the year I was born, 1981. A dance came to be and it was called the Harlem Shake because it originated in Harlem. The dance became mainstream in 2001 when G. Dep featured the Harlem shake in his music video “Let’s Get It“.

As far as I can tell the Harlem Shake is simply your body convulsing rapidly and it really doesn’t have to go along to a beat at all. You just have to shake, I mean totally ladies let the thigh fat jiggle because that is the dance. It’s not pretty.

So why has the Harlem Dance suddenly become popular again?

So who it this tall, slight fella with a boyish face and big, goofy smile. He was born in West Philadelphia. No no no, not Will Smith, although the Fresh Prince did have some CRAZY dance moves back in the day. Bauuer, he’s this string bean white guy hip hopper. Bauuer released his own Harlem Shake track as a free digital download by Mad Decent imprint label Jeffree’s on May 22, 2012. “I just had the idea of taking a Dutch house squeaky-high synth and putting it over a hip-hop track,” he says.

Bauuer had no idea his song was start an internet sensation, a new meme that would make Gangham Style a thing of the past. He references the UGA Men’s Swim & Dive team 30-second clip of guys killing the dance UNDER WATER! (You can view the video at the top of this post).

Whaaaaat!? The video has 21 million views at as of this moment and it was published on February 11, 2013. Awwww snap! Apparently Bauuer’s single started selling BECAUSE of this dance meme. People were getting it as a free download in May 2012 and now thanks to the response of the meme caused the song to reach number one on both the Billboard Hot 100 and Dance/Electronic Songs.

There you have it.

P.S. Turn any website into a Harlem Shaker site…
