Welcoming Womb Wednesday

The Coalition for Improving Maternity Services (CIMS) is a coalition of individuals and national organizations with concern for the care and well-being of mothers, babies, and families. Their mission is to promote a wellness model of maternity care that will improve birth outcomes and substantially reduce costs. This evidence-based mother-, baby-, and family-friendly model focuses on prevention and wellness as the alternatives to high-cost screening, diagnosis, and treatment programs.

They have webinars each month on a variety of topics. Next month will be on “Marketing to a New Generation of Parents: Success as a Childbirth Business Owner.” CIMS Webinars are open to all at no charge. Continuing Education processing fees apply only to participants requesting a continuing education certificate for their participation. Fees can be paid at any time before or after the scheduled event.

They also have a wealth of information, free downloads and documents, etc.

Many minds, hearts and hands are needed to achieve the goal of Making Mother-Friendly Care A Reality. The maternity care system is in great need of evidence-based, cost-effective care, and it will take all of us to make it happen. Here are a few of the many ways you can become involved in Making Mother-Friendly Care A Reality in the U.S. and around the world.
