‘Last Call with Carson Daly’ starts 11th season with a bang

Carson Daly might have been an ego maniac when he made his debut on MTV’s show “Total Request Live” but apparently that worked for him because now he is starting his 11th season as host of “Last Call with Carson Daly” which follows the Jimmy Fallon show on weeknights. I’m going to be a shmuck and admit I’ve never been a huge Carson fan, but I’m doing to attempt now to redeem myself and say he grew on me a little bit yesterday when he drew attention, via tweet, to a sad story about a 101-year-old woman who was evicted from her home. Who does that to people? Our lovely government.

NBC’s “Last Call with Carson Daly” in partnership with Ford launches its 11th season on Tuesday, September 20 (1:35-2:05 a.m. ET) with performances from Los Angeles’ legendary Greek Theatre as the world-famous venue celebrates its 80th anniversary. Performing on stage throughout the week are going to be some amazing bands including The Decemberists, Death Cab for Cutie, Atmosphere and Thievery Corporation.

“Greek Week” on “Last Call” will air from Tuesday, September 20 through Friday, September 23, marking the first multi-night music celebration from the Greek Theatre and will include an integrated spotlight on Ford’s all-new Focus and the automobile’s innovative technical features. Yippee!

Each show also will be re-broadcast the following day on Fuse.

“The Greek is a special place to see music and I strive for ‘Last Call’ to be the same,” said Daly. “We’re thrilled to partner with the Ford Focus to kick this season off with ‘Greek Week.'”

Why Ford? I don’t know, but didn’t they pair up with American Idol, too? Maybe the folks of Ford are big music junkies, if so, rock on!

Upcoming guests on “Last Call” include music producer David Guetta, Newark Mayor Cory Booker, chart-topping rapper Game, “Sons of Anarchy” creator Kurt Sutter, rapper and MTV’s Best New Artist nominee Kreayshawn, NBC’s Chief Foreign Correspondent Richard Engel and indie pop band Foster the People perform their breakout hit “Pumped Up Kicks.”

My son, Braeden, LOVES “Foster the People” and so I’ll have to let him watch the show via Fuse the next day after that episode airs which I believe will be after Greek week and that puts us into September 26th, but don’t hold me to that!
