Mama as the Wife: Glasses for Valentine’s Day?
It has been at least six months since my husband had his annual eye exam. They gave him new glasses, he went and picked them up, came home and found that something was wrong with them. I don’t remember if it was a scratch or that the glare reducer film was smudged but either way he has yet to go back and have them fix the glasses. So he is still wearing his old glasses which he doesn’t like and I am more and more frequently hearing about his headaches. Oy vey!
So what do you think about the idea of Valentine’s Day glasses?
I really love these plastic full-rim frame with a saddle bridge. They are from Zenni Opitcal which means they are not only stylish, but they are also completely affordable at $12.95. I’m not kidding, they are hip and they won’t cost over $100 like they would if you bought them at a regular eye center. And my husband, thankfully, is not the type of person who cares about a brand name being all large and in charge on the side so I know this would be fine.
A lot of people are afraid to buy glasses online because they don’t know how they will look, but Zenni Optical has this super cool feature where you can upload your photo and try the glasses on your face. And then to find the correct size they give you lots of great tips.
Either way, I tried at Christmas to give my husband hints that he needs to get rid of his old glasses since he doesn’t like them. But maybe the holiday of love will be the right time. We’ll see.
