Haley Casey new indie artist with Purple Quail Records
She’s eighteen years old and I imagine she is being dragged all over the place right now doing shows and writing music. I wonder how it’s going for her and if it is everything she thought it would be.
Meet Purple Quail Records’ newest artist: Haley Casey from Rickman, Tennessee. This eighteen year old recently signed a recording contract with the new independent label and is showing off her talents as a singer, songwriter and musician in her first release, “About Love”. I think she might be the only artist on this label right now… I’ve not heard of it before, but they definitely snagged someone with quite a bit of potential when they signed Haley.
I’d say she has a long way to go, but I’ve never seen her live. I can only tell you there is something missing from what has been recorded. I want her to really put some emotion into what she is singing. She has a great voice, she’s just not belting it out there like I think she can. I think she could sound more like Grace Potter from Grace Potter and the Nocturnals if she really got into the song and put some feeling out there. Maybe the word I’m looking for here is that she sounds tentative.
Again it might just be the recording. You’ll have to let me know what you think. It’s embedded above the title of this post for easy streaming.
Her album “Tonight, I’m Yours” has thirteen original tracks and I very much appreciate that they are each unique and well written.
